Our client, a major OEM based in the UK, has a requirement for an Electrical Engineer to support their Harness Development Group
Electrical Engineer Main Responsibilities:
Analyse, recommend and Validate solutions to harness installation problems within time and cost constraints.
Liaise with Partner Companies to meet project requirements and overcome warranty issues.
Facilitate the introduction of electrical harness and components changes into manufacturing plant.
Review and recommend action on electrical component suggestions and cost reduction proposals.
Ensure compliance with VEC/GM Quality, Environmental, Legal & other applicable standards.
Provide technical support and analysis knowledge to assist resolution of manufacturing and quality issues.
Provide reports and recommendations to project team in order to facilitate effective decision-making.
Knowledge & Experience
Engineering degree or similar qualification.
Design, manufacture and installation of vehicle electrical harness systems.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and circuit diagrams.
Design and development of vehicle electrical systems and associated mechanical components.
Experience of problem solving techniques to resolve current product and customer warranty problems.
Experience of liaison with engineering, quality & manufacturing departments and component suppliers.
Knowledge of GM LAN and Electrical procedures is an advantage.
Experience of PC software – Excel, Word, Imaging software, Powerpoint etc
